Happy Birthday to me!
Yayyyy it’s my birthday. Even though I’ve already had a number of wrinkles between last night and this morning (I’ve even already cried once) I’m going to try to make the best of my so-called “special” day.
I think when I was younger, I used to feel different every year when I woke up, but I don’t anymore–I just feel tired and more agitated than the previous year. Oh, and my dad advised that I check for grey hairs this morning. Thanks Pops!
I share my special day Kelly Osbourne, Keri Hilson, Sylvia Plath, Theodore Roosevelt and many other miscellaneous “celebrities”, politicians and explorers.
I guess the best part about today is that I’m becoming an official New Yorker. After about 3 weeks of my IDless (I have no idea where it is, but I hope some underage gal who looks like me is having a grant time using it) I have my temp ID (which also stupidly expires today) and I’m going to trade it in for an NY State license, which makes me an official New Yorker! Whoo hoo!
Sadly, I still have to go to work today (even though I think that offices should just give you your birthday off) so it’s not like I get to relax, but I am planning to order myself some breakfast today…and a milkshake! So there, birthday. Take that!
Since I think that October 27th is undoubtedly the best day ever, I also hope that all of you have a fabulous day and stay safe this weekend during Halloween festivities!!!
xoxoxo (I’m feeling extra huggy kissy today), E
UPDATE 11/2: Unfortunately, I was without a 2nd form of valid identification to trade in my temporary license for my NY State one, so I still “reside” in Massachusetts, which means no…I didn’t vote today :(. Additionally, I found my old ID on the night of my birthday party (10/29) while emptying out my handbag to find my camera which had slipped into a whole in the lining of my bag…where apparently my ID has been hanging out for a month…expired. So sadly, no underage gal who looks like me has been enjoying her time partying in NYC. Too bad!
