So I know it’s fashion week and I should be covering all the latest and greatest from the runways, but since I’m doing that for The Makeup Girl, why post the same stuff here?
Instead, I’ve found a fabulous jewelry designer right our big city’s backyard…well, on a side street, technically, since there are no backyards in the Big Apple.
While perusing the famous Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market on Sunday, I stumbled upon a booth full of gems and jewels, with fantastically woven metals adorning each piece, perfectly tangled and twisted, either around the gems, or around each other.
Rosey B Designs, an NYC-based jewelry maker, sells her designs at the HK Flea Market every Sunday and her website boasts a small shop on Etsy. Rosey B hosts exclusive jewelry parties with 2 weeks noticie and can custom make and design any piece!
The intricate, but well-made designs caught my eye immediately, forcing me to admit that I loved them and wanted to write about them on my site!
The pieces range anywhere from $20-$200 (and more for custom designs) depending on the style and materials used, which is slightly pricey than your typical flea market pricing–but you get what you pay for: The pieces are all original, almost all one-of-a-kind, and the girl at the bar next to you will want to know where you got it.
I found Rosey B Designs closer to the 10th Avenue side of the flea, set back, amidst mostly vintage retailers. Her designs are unmistakable and set across a black velvet backdrop, making these beauties hard to miss!
